Tenpin

Went bowling on the weekend and scored 182 and 199 over two games. I was in the Australian Corporate Games last year and came 4th with a 620 series (three games, 212, 200 & 208). I used to play league about 10 years ago and couldn’t barely manage a consistent 160 each week. What gives? Why can I go out and bowl near or over 200 games once a year, but can’t do it each week? Is it like beginners luck each time? I was considering joining a league again, maybe I should join the slow-pokes, which play once a year instead of once a week!

Consulting Clackers #1

I work for a consulting company. I’m currently at our number one client where I’m working in a role considered several levels lower than my actual position. I’ve been there for 18 months and have asked for a move to another more appropriate position many times. My boss tells me today that with the current client I’m at, I need superman to say yay or nay on whether I can move! Secondly, he also tells me that if a position comes up at this client, I pretty much must take it over anything else coming in the pipeline. Obviously having a job is better than not, but give me a break!

What’s funny though is that today I got promising calls from 3 headhunters, so like they say, what goes around comes around!

Magnets ahoy

I bought some more Magnetix the other day. We’ve been trying to make some of the things that show in the books. Why is it that the picture they show on the box, cannot be made with the number of pieces in the box. You need to buy another box to make it, then to make the thing on that box, you need another box. Those marketing folks!!! At least it’s fun…

Bad News from London

Some very bad news from London, regarding the bombing. A collegue of mine from two years back, Sam Ly, passed away in Hospital in London after receiving critical injuries in the bus bomb-attack. My deepest condolences to Sam’s Family. Sam was a terrific guy to work with and know, and he could always make you laugh. My thoughts are with you wherever you are dude!
